ALEX — READ THIS FIRST
(.START_HERE.txt — this file is hidden so the folder shows only the one thing
you double-click. On the Mac, press Command-Shift-. in the folder to see it.)

Everything is already set up for you. You do not install anything, and you
never have to type commands.

EVERY DAY (this is the whole thing)
-----------------------------------
1. Open the folder named "Alex's Transcriber".
2. Double-click the file named: Start Alex's Transcriber.command
A window opens by itself and starts everything.
If macOS says it "cannot verify" the file the first time: right-click it,
choose Open, then click Open again. You only do that once.
3. Your web browser opens with the note app's page. Leave it open.
4. On your phone: open the upload page you saved to your home screen
(or scan the QR code shown on the Mac screen).
5. Choose your note photos, then tap Upload. That is it.

The start file is the only thing in the folder you touch; the hidden ".parts"
folder holds the pieces it uses.

Anytime you double-click that same file again, it just brings the app and its
page back — nothing gets set up twice.

ONE-TIME SETUP (about one minute, only the first day)
-----------------------------------------------------
On the app's page:
1. Click Settings.
2. Choose Real mode.
3. Paste the processing key Jesse sends you separately.
Never email that key to anyone. It is saved only on your Mac.
4. Click Save Settings.

WHERE YOUR NOTES LIVE
---------------------
On your Mac, in: Documents → NoteCaptureLocal

  Notes/originals your original photos
Notes/transcriptions the raw text read from each photo
Notes/notes the cleaned-up note for each upload
MasterSummary.md one growing document with all your notes together

IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
-----------------------
"Double-clicking the file does nothing"
  - Make sure the file name ends in .command (not .txt).
  - Right-click it → Open With → Terminal.

"A window flashes and disappears"
  - Double-click the file again and read the last line in the window; it
explains what to do, and it is usually a one-line message to send Jesse.

"My phone cannot open the upload page"
  - The app must be running on the Mac, and both devices must be on the same
Wi-Fi. If it still fails, double-click the Start file again and scan the
    fresh QR code.

"Something else"
  - Inside the app, open the Activity page and tell Jesse what it says.
